No Fixes In This Game
As more and more information comes to light on the fixing of quiz shows on the television networks and as the Harris committee exposes more and more “brains” as just ordinary folk with good memories, we turn to one performance that was not rigged. Sixteen-year-old Bobby Fischer of New York has just lost out in the international chess matches after winning 12½ and losing 15½ games to older opponents. He numbered among his opponents some of the world's greatest players. The game may not “draw” like the quiz shows, but promoters would be stumped if they tried to “fix” these contests.
